Longtime lurker here. I am currently in the process of building a Savage 111 in 7mm Rem.
Plans include either a Shilen or Pac Nor barrel, Rifle Basix trigger, Warne 20 moa bases, and a Millett 4-20x50 scope (I would love a Nightforce or Huskemaw scope, but they are out of the budget right now... ) I was looking at the Choate ultimate sniper stock until I saw an article on this site where the synthetic noodle stock was modified. I would really like to keep the DBM.
The goal is to have an accurate hunter / paper puncher that I can rely on from 50 - 600 yds in the $1000 ballpark. There are not many one mile shots here in South Carolina, but if I ever spot a steel gong at that range, i might have to give it a try.
