H&R model 300 Ultra, rebarreled with a 24" PacNor barrel (duplicated original profile, .5" dia @ muzzle) in 240 Weatherby. Action is a Mauser by Zastava for Charles Daley and has been Cerakoted flat black as has the barrel. The original walnut stock, with rosewood fore end tip and grip cap, has been cleaned up and refinished matte with Tru-Oil, a new Pachmayr pad is added for a pull length of 14". Edit: I goofed! Rifle shot 3/4" in initial testing. Scope is a Leupold VX3-LR, 4.5-14x-40. Total weight 9.6# w/ scope. Reloading dies included. Sell @ $850 with scope, $650 rifle with rings, priced with shipping to your FFL. Prefer USPS money order or personal check with proper clearance. Working on Xmas funding, so no trades please.

Thanks for the input. Mauser's are a hard sell these days and I'm trying to make the package more acceptable.

I had one of these rifles in 284 win, rebarreled by Chick Donnelly. Absolutely stellar rifle, and the most comfortable stock I have ever laid paws on. I still kick myself for selling mine.

Thought I'd add this info for those unfamiliar with these rifles. It was requested by an interested party:
The H&R 300 Ultra, as I understand it, was a "kit" gun in three forms over the period of time 1965-1983. By "kit" I mean the stock, barrel and action were purchased by H&R and assembled in the US. There are three different versions as to the action used; 1965 - 1972 FN Mauser-type, 1973-1977 SAKO and 1978 - 1983.
Mine is a Mauser-type Mark X (aka Charles Daley) from Zastava in Yugoslavia. Stocks were made by Fajen and barrels by Douglas. The action is classic Mauser 98 though with an Interarms-type Mark X bolt shroud and a 2-position (push/pull) safety on the right. Feed is controlled round from a floor plate system. The trigger is fully adjustable.
I got this info off the internet when doing research to purchase the rifle originally.
