I bought this from the estate of a gentleman who did not get the chance to fire the rifle before he passed away. I recently found out the main place I was planning to hunt with it will not be available to me this year. I also took my two CVA Scout 45-70 conversions to the range today. They perform just fine for my needs, so this rifle can move on to someone else.

It was built by Hankins Custom rifles on a Remington 700 stainless short action and it has a precision recoil lug. The barrel is a 26" .45 Brux #17 with hybrid fluting and 1:20 twist. The stock is a Manners T-5A, custom-painted black with leafy green webbing. It has a Jewell trigger and a Nightforce six-screw 20 MOA rail. There is an upgraded self-timing brake in addition to the standard brake that Jeff includes with his builds, and even an extra ignition system.

I will include everything necessary to get started with smokeless muzzleloading. There is a collapsible ramrod, smooth sizing die, de-priming kit, and 49 primed modules.

I have the invoice for the build which was $5,082.50. I am asking $2,950 shipped from my FFL to yours.

Very tempting, I'm in Md and that is a fantastic price. Can you tell me what it weights

The Hankins bolt action ML builds are not lightweight rifles. The #17 barrel contour is good for the super magnum loads, but it is heavy. The Manners stock is also quite solid. I weighed it on my bathroom scale when I had a scope on it and it was around 13 pounds. I have not weighed it since I removed the scope.
Thank you for all the interest. I'm not looking for trades, but I am open to reasonable cash offers from local buyers.

Just curious, as I read your listing, it appears to be new and unfired. Am I reading that correctly? Also, does Hankins provide actual load data for each rifle? BTW: I do live in VA. Thanks,

That is a very good deal. Jeff builds top quality guns and with Kyle Pittman's 275-300 grain bullets this is a legitimate 500 yard+ deer rifle. I do believe that the accepted load is 78 grains of 4198 yielding around 3000 fps, You could contact Jeff Hankins to confirm.

According to the videos Jeff has posted on YouTube, his recommended load is 78 grains of IMR or H 4198 to achieve 3000 fps. He says there are other powders that work fine as well. I did learn that the original owner's brother took this rifle out and fired it to zero the scope that was on it when I bought the gun. Upon closer inspection, there are 12 primer modules that have carbon on them so I believe this rifle has been fired 12 times.
