I went out and did some chrono work today. Seems that the only thing that will even come close to Reloader 26 in terms of velocity is IMR 7828 at 2904 FPS with a 195 gr EOL in my 7mm SS.

I tried 4831 and H1000 as well. I started getting some slightly flattened primers with both, but not enough to call it over pressure. I never got to that point because the powder was pushing the bullets back out so I couldn't up the charge anymore.

H4350, according to the company, is "Ideal" for the WSM family. Im interested in how it does? Maybe some R23 as well. Id like to run down to Grafs ASAP and get both as well as more R26.

If anybody has a SAUM, that would be the closest thing to what I have. Ill probably keep R26 as a first choice since it does good, but Id like to have a backup.

Man that 7828 is good for a lot of cartridges, one of the most underrated powders out there.

And easy to get.

I use IMR-7828 in my 7mmSAUM when loading heavy bullets such as the 180 Berger. 2900 ft/sec with a 195 grain bullet is very strong. I have yet to try RL-26, but the data I have seen shows great velocity.

Well, I picked up some R22 and h4350. Really wish they would have had R23.

Thought about R17. I guess I should have got some. They have more reloader 26 then anything.

My hunt pal has a 300WSM shooting 185 Bergers with H4350 way sub-MOA at 200 yds.

RL 17 works very well in my 325 WSM under 170 to 180 grain bullets. I see good case fill, excellent speed, and good accuracy. Haven't worked with any under 200 to 220 grain bullets, yet.

Nothing beats 7828ssc for accuracy with 160gr-175gr bullets in my 7 WSM. I shoot the 160s at about 2,900 ft/sec, that's max in my rifle. Shot a 1.2" group at 300 yds yesterday with the 160 Accubond, a time-tested bullet that's hard to beat.

Have you tried R26? I'm getting around 2920fps with 195 eol over 59 grains in a 28 inch tube. Accuracy is around .284 inches CTC or less at 100 given that 3 shot groups have all bullets touching each other so that should be under 2 widths (7mm or .284) which is .568 group area if you don't do CTC groups.

I don't mean to sound smug, but I think the gun or me has more work to do before I call it good. I had a shilen select match 308 on it before and I was producing a little better groups at 100 yds. But I had also done some extensive ladder testing and load tuning at 800 yards. Lately I'm always rushed to get shots in before dark so in guessing my shooting ability is pretty degraded when I do that.
