Does anyone know if the Gunwerks LR series actions are REM 700 footprint? I have a 338 edge that I would like to put in a chassis since the stock got damaged in the house fire.

The LR 1000 is. I'd have to imagine that the 1200 is also. Give Gunwerks a call.
I called a few days ago and the lady told me that the LR1200 action was a "semi 700 clone" but wouldn't confirm it would fit in a 700 chassis. I just thought maybe someone here had swapped one over at some point. Thanks for the post. I guess I'll just order a chassis and see.

It's the same footprint I believe. The election port is enlarged, the bolt doesn't require a tool to break it down and it takes a recoil lug that locks into the action face. I think that's the "Semi" part of the differences. Footprint should be identical. I have a couple of their actions and they are both (LA/SA) the same as the Remington 700. Mine are the GLR and GRB actions
