Hey guys new to the long range shoot game but hooked with what I've gotten to do! Glad I found the site you guys are a fountain of knowledge.

Welcome to LRH and the sport of longrange shooting. Do you have a bunch of money? your wallet is about to spring a GIGANTIC leak!

Tell us a little bit about your interest...hunting? targets? tactical? all? What gear do you have?

Yeah my wallets already a bit soggy lol. I've got a Mauser 98 that's rebarrled for .300 win mag. For right now I'm looking at just paper a steal punching till I can build my skills up. As of now my longest kill was a cow elk at about 175 (child's play I know) but I've shot some targets at about 400. I'm also having a semi custom built. It's going to be a .264 win mag 26 in PAC-NOR tube on a McMillan a5.

Thanks for those ill read them today. I'm looking at shooting the 168 vlds for my .300 but I'll give those a look too.:D

While you would be able to get the 168 screaming downrange, take a good look a the 215hybrid. With a BC of .696 its exterior ballistics will be outstanding as the distances get farther.

Ok will do. Just hope they don't blow the deer in half hahaha. How do you like that .260rem?? It was a toss up for me betwee that an the .264

Love the 260. It sends 130grain bullets at 3000fps and can send 140s at 2900.

Your 264 will send 'em even faster. Regardless of whether you chose a 6.5x47, 264win, 6.5x284 or 260 they are all good choices as they all shoot the same high BC bullet(s) and as a result, they are all good choices.
