Got drawn for 1st rifle Colorado

I got drawn for 1st rifle for either sex elk and a bear tag for unit 43. Can't wait to experience Colorado. Not a coveted unit but hoping for the best and praying all this running and working out pays off with an elk.

I got drawn or 1st rifle too cow only tag for 11,12,13,23,24,231...

Only thing I can say is don't underestimate the mountains.... The best preparation you can have is be physically fit and in shape and don't underestamate the mountains and don't over think the gear! Colorado is awesome! I cant wait to hunt this year!

Where are you from?

I'm from Florida, hunted elk in Montana a couple of times but this is my first trip to Colorado. I have an idea of what to expect from hunting in Montana but the reality of the mountains don't take long to get real once you're hiking. I'm doing a drop camp and hoping to at least find some elk.
