We had elections yesterday in S.A, which is a public holiday. This allowed me to go do some Egyptian Geese and Spurwing shooting.

We have a crop field which we made silage from and there were some plants left which will be used for grazing in winter. Made a small hide in the corn and waited for the birds. Used S&W 12g shotgun with No. 1 shot. Shot 19 geese and 1 spurwing.

I guess those birds were landing in your corn and dry feeding? I'm jealous. Here in Mississippi it is April and turning warm quickly. I saw an Egyptian goose in a local subdivision pond last year. I have no idea where it came from but it did take me a solid week to figure out what type of bird it was. That is alot of birds to pack out of the field. Happy hunting.
