I have a friend headed to CO for third season OTC elk. His first trip. He shoots the Fusion 150 at whitetail deer. Is that an adequate bullet for elk? Thanks

With proper shot placement and inside whatever range he is proficient at, IMO yes it is. I don't think I personally would go beyond 300 yds plus or minus a tad with that combo.

I prefer a slightly heavier bullet but the 150 will have enough velocity and energy out to 400 yards to do the job, maybe even 500 yards, but I wouldn't use it any further than that. I'm using a 180 grain bullet currently but that's so that I can use the same bullet for moose and bear.
