Extreme range muzzleloader shot on TN 8pt.buck

I was fortunate enough to have great friends that allowed me to hunt their land this morning. I took this quality 8 pt buck with my T/C Encore Pro Hunter M/L at an extreme range. Extremely short range (18 yards). Very happy with it.

Actually, he did an abbreviated version of the bronco kick, hopped forward about two hops (20ft or so) and stood there. His tail was doing the death twitch, while his hydraulic fluid leaked out the exit. about 15 seconds later, he tipped over like a statue in a wind storm. Done!

I shot an 8 point years ago with my 50cal ML .45 Sabot 300gr. He was about 40 yds away and when the bullet hit, I swear he got pushed 2' Sidways and flipped over.

There is certainly a lot of energy that close. I believe it could happen, especially.if the bullet expands widely and dumps.its energy
