I am taking my barrel blank to a local gunsmith in a couple days, and he generously offered to let me and a couple friends watch and learn the various different methods and tips for chambering and threading a high precision barrel.

Does anyone have some pearls or things they wished they had done differently on their build that might be something to take into account before I go?

I've read through the Givers book and watched a bunch of YouTube on the various methods and considerations, but nothing teaches like experience.

Current Build Plan (I already have all of it, just waiting to install the barrel):

Defiance Ruckus Tactical Long action (LH)
Proof Research Heavy Palma Steel Blank
KRG Whiskey 3 LH Chassis with Arca Spigot
TriggerTech Special (LH)
Thunderbeast Hub Brake
Nightforce ATACR 5-25 F1 in MDT one piece

My plans for this ~28lb gun are for shooting ELR matches and some hunting when I can use my EBike.

Thanks!

FYI you probably looking more like 21-22lbs.
Personally I'd go with a straight 1.250" barrel but you've already got that one. The extra weight is nice and they look cool.
