Sorry if I am getting of the Post for Sale of your AR-15
Someone will like it have this one and the accessories!

Dang I almost bought a Colt AR in Jacksonville, NC outside of my Marine Base Camp Lejeune. I was in the 2nd Marine Div, Force Troops, Recon. Back then it was a few hundred dollars.
YES the PRICE is WORTH MORE NOW!!
One of my Sgt from the Armory told me to buy one and he would give me all the extra parts to turn into a Auto. This was before the ban by Regan on Auto weapons.
I had a hard time touching a "Black Rifle" When I came home. This brings back memories.
I noticed in your picture that this Colt Lower is Stamped .223 cal and the magazines are 5.56. I never had one Rifle (AR) in that cartridge -.223 in the USMC or Military. All the ARs I had were 5.56. Maybe I am missing something I was in the Corps 50 years ago. What year was this made?
Well in the USMC we never got the "Good Stuff" we always got the leftovers from the Army. Heck the "C" Rats that we ate (in a carboard box) were dated in the 1940s and we had in Viet Nam no MREs for us.
I just checked some Mags I brought back and they are stamped "Adventure Line" (still have about 1/2 dozen).
At first we were issued 20 round mags and then the 30 round. I had probably 25-30 with me when I got out. (I always carried at least 10 mags and 2 bandoliers (120 each) (540 total) when in the field.
Got a ton of adapters for the stripper clips. (10 --.5.56 in a strip)
When Clinton but a ban on mags I sold about 15 of them with the mag pouches for $70 each!!!
Nice setup with the LSA, cleaning rods, pouch.
Does the back of the stock hold the cleaning rods and LSA???
Never was issued Bayonet. I saw some of them but as Marines we were trained to shoot everything. If we ran out of ammo the "E Tool" was our next best buddy! Also had KBARS-the Marine Tool.

Coyote - A lot of the early AR-15s were chambered in .223 and not 5.56.

I have some very early 20 round steel magazines that look like the OP mags but have .223 stamped on them. The magazine works with either caliber regardless of the floor plate stamp.

Nice stick and I wish I didn't own a pile of ARs already. This one is just cool as heck.

Free bump and GLWS.

I never said that AR-15s were not chambered and Stamped in .223. Just that all the Military Colt AR-15s I had in the Corps were 5.56. Never saw a Military AR 15 in .223, they are all 5.56 Nato. Just asking the OP if he knew what year it was made. Everything looks like a Military Issue. I mentioned the magazines with what we go in the Corp during the Viet Nam Era. We - Marines got all the left overs and Not the original Colt 5.56 in 20 round capacity. YES I do know that .223 and 5.56 work in the same magazines even with stamped floor plates. The only difference in .223 and 5.56 is the Pressure they can produce. Military spec 5.56 cartridges have a higher pressure. There are some very good information Threads and comparisons on the internet explain the difference. You can safely shoot .223 in a 5.56 chamber, but not the other way around. Military 5.56 cartridges are loaded hotter than .223
I also said the Safrihunter has a really nice Colt AR 15 with all the Trimmings and well worth the price. You don't see complete sets like this.

No need to get on the defense, I was just stating some facts. I am sure OP doesn't like us crapping up his for sale post....
