hi everyone new to sight. just bought a 6.5-06AI rifle made by e r shaw. does anybody have any loads for 140 gr berger bullets. I used 45 gr imr 4350. the base to ogive is 2.633 shot .548 group @ 100 yd. shot a 2.526 3 shot group @ 310 yd. I was using the bdc on a Nikon prostaff scope. was not using clicks. any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like you already have a great load. If you want to tinker with some other powders, try H4831. Some have even been able to use H1000 with good results.

thanks for reply. I have some of that powder I will work some up wih it. do you have this cal rifle? 8% higher that will use about 49.6 gr of imr 4350. I like to push the bullets a little bit. but its easier to use scope for long shots. my scope is set at its bottom. I have 60 moa of clicks to work with. thanke for info again.

Can't say for sure if we have the same caliber or not. I also have a 6.5-06 AI, but there are many variants. If not exact, we are close.

My current pet load is a Nosler 130 gr. AB over 56.2 gr. of H 4831SC. Even though my barrel had a fast twist for the 140's, it just seemed to like the 130 AB better. My shooter's log shows the following developed load:

61.0 gr. of H1000 with a 142 SMK @ 3,125 fps (warm load)

I am currently working up a load for the new 160 gr. Matrix VLD. My barrel has a 1 in 8 twist, so this bullet seems ideal.

Im running 47.0 of IMR4350 through my 6.5-06 through a 26" 1-8" brux getting me around 2940 - 2950 fps Ive gone up to 49gr but seems my load was nice a 47.0 with 140 bergers . I would imagine you could probably get up to the low 50grs in an AI.... probably start at like 45.5 and work up from there I was also not able to get my velocity up above 2800 with 4831sc with =out pressure signs for what ever reason.
