E Lock or Dial

Looking at a new safe and can't decide on a dial lock or electronic lock. I'm spending in the Liberty/Cannon range. Opinions please!

I like a good dial lock(S&G). May not be quick but you won't have electronic problems either. Just my preference.

I got a liberty elock, no problems 2 years later. Wouldn't blame anyone one bit for going dial though. So far im happy.

A safe will last a long, long time. Electronics? Not so much. I vote dial lock, too, just as @belldar recommended.

Yeah, that's my main concern without spending a ton of money. Liberty says lifetime warranty but I think the lock is like 5-6yrs and after that parts are covered but not labor if I remember right.

I got a Sturdy Safe some time ago. Looked at many safes and for what I got I am Quite happy with it. She is quite heavy duty! Now need to find another. Was thinking along the lines of a Fat boy or similar priced. Won't be like the Sturdy but will be a good budget option.

I haven't seen a Sturdy before and just checked them out. Look very well made but a little out of my price range. Is yours e lock, dial or the one that has both?

Just dial locks.

In the sense of a safe, a dial is what I went with. No batteries to go dead, not keys to keep up with if your battery dies.

I went with a liberty 24 gun, with a dial.

Can't be more happier with it

You can actually set your dial to where you know you only have to turn to the next number to open it after you lock it if you're worried about speed........might be even faster then digital. I, like others prefer the comfort with a LACK of electronics to go bad.

I have an electronic lock on a Fort Knox safe. No problems with it for over 30 years now. The two 9 volt batteries last several years and you can tell when they need replacing. You can personalize the combination and have different combo's for other family members if you like.

I have a couple friends that originally went with an e-lock. Then they became afraid that a EM event could prevent them getting into the safe so they had them changed to dial. I dunno if something like that could actually happen but I thought I would note it here.

Have had 2 Cannon safes, both with e locks. No problems. Batteries last a couple years, easy to change out. Fyi, up here for whatever reason, tractor supply always has the best prices on Cannon safes, if you can wait for a sale.

At lest on a dial safe you get a day key to open if you are in it a lot, just don't turn past( 0 ) or you will have to redial. Pain at times.
