Trying to decied between a DPMS LR-308B and DPMS 308 Recon. I have a 308B layed away. But i seen a Recon at gun show. Recon has a lot of features, with 16" mid Hbar 416 Stainless Steel w/acc blackout flash hider. But the 308B has a 18" bull barrel 4140 Chromemoly. The recon is 200 dollars more. I always heard bull barrel's are more accurate. I'm wanting a gun to compete with bolt action accuracy. My first upgrade will be a trigger and then i'm looking at Nikon's new M-308 scope.

Any suggestion's on which gun will be more accurate.

A friend of mine has the DPMS LR308 with the 24" SS Bull barrell. It shoots really well. It will shoot MOA with Federal GMM and averages 3/4 MOA with handloads. My 700 shoots a little better but if you want a semi-auto I think the DPMS is a good choice.
