My gosh, this system is so sweet! It is the Mercedes Benz of neck turners.
I bought it a few months ago. Last night I needed to turn about 100 cases for my Chris Matthews built 7 Dakota. I had last used it for a different cartridge so I needed to adjust the thickness setting. That took all of 5 minutes at most. I was dead-on with my first attempt at the thickness adjustment.
Then, doing some last night and some this morning, it took me about one hour to turn 100 cases. What a joy to use.
The main part of the system is a lathe to mechanically turn the case-head holder. In my situation however, with large case head diameter, I have the lathe turn the cutting device instead. I hold the case in my hand in a conventional chuck.
Not cheap but quality and precision isn't and I can't see myself ever losing a case during the operation. Perfectly uniform and smooth as a baby's butt!
Don Nielson - Benchrest Toys
[ 05-25-2004: Message edited by: Len Backus ]

I am interested in purchasing the neck turning tool for use with my AI .338 Lapua but can't find a working link or contact information for Benchrest Toys. Info would be appreciated.

Kelbly's carry all of Don Nielson's neck turning tools. I just bought 2 neckturners from them. Good guys to deal with.
