I mean it does erode, but I think that's also relative to how much you're burning. 90+gr in something is going to cook throats a lot quicker than a win mag or prc will.
I can tell you it eats barrels in a 264 Win Mag Improved. I just set mine back and rechambered at -650 rounds.I mean it does erode, but I think that's also relative to how much you're burning. 90+gr in something is going to cook throats a lot quicker than a win mag or prc will.
Ok let's add powder to bore ratio in there that will probably be more accurate.I can tell you it eats barrels in a 264 Win Mag Improved. I just set mine back and rechambered at -650 rounds.
I like that calculator, thanks, RL26 shows up but not vihtavuori N565Most powders heat potential are here. Just click on Propellant brand then select propellant type and the heat potential will appear under itBarrel Life Calculator

Same here, I ran a bunch of N165 and H1000 through my first .300WM barrel, (and was very nice to it, no long strings, just a few shots at steel, groundhogs and deer) and at 5000 rounds it threw a flyer here and there but still shot just under and inch at 100 yds.Forget the 5 shot, those 4th and 5th shots cook the barrel! Good call on the H1000, N165 and N160 are both good choices also.
Best of luck!
