Deers eat marigold blossoms

Sure did - nibbled all of them. The plant lady at the plant store said wild creatures avoided marigolds but now all my colorful blossoms are gone. Cut off clean as like done with shears.

They are called "deer resistant" flowers--- is anything really "deer proof" ?

Kinda like a "water resistant" rating on a watch---- drop it in deep enough water and it's toast

I don't know how the weather is in your area, but we had about 2 months of no rain and extreme heat. They will eat anything in those conditions to get water.

Deer will eat anything. In fact, one year I saw a doe popping off bark off a tree and eating eat.

I have seen them eat baby birds from a low nest. If it looks edible and they are hungry, it's fair game.

Baby deer (spotted fawn) to mommy deer > "why does this taste like plastic?",
Mommy deer to baby deer > "because it is plastic",

The deers in our neighborhood enjoy the fruits of our monthly $150 plus water bill to maintain our luxurious green lawn, bountiful tomato crop, & colorful flowering plants.

The wife planted marigolds around the garden to keep the rabbits out before we fenced it. The marigolds were a appetizer before feasting in the garden.

I'd put money that says it wasn't deer and it was a woodchuck. Deer are murder on lawns and gardens but something is telling me woodchuck.
