I was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ, from 1992-1996 while my oldest son was 4-8 YO. He found out it was his next duty assignment last Friday and was delighted. This time he is a Major in USAF and will be doing special duty with 12 AF Headquarters. When I retired in 2007, he went to the USAF Academy a week later, and the pride in military service/heritage continues. Another proud moment for this good ole Dad. I am truly blessed.

Congrats and thank you and your son for your service to our country. A reason to be proud for sure.
Thank you, Sir! It was an honor to serve this great nation. My youngest son also served in the USMC, but only for one enlistment. I have to admit, my wife and I never expected them to serve, but we are glad they did.

Congratulations to your son and thank you both for your service! I live a short distance from the Academy in Colorado Springs. Definitely a proud father and son moment. Thank you for sharing and serving!
Thank you, Sir! He is a 2011 USAFA grad and I miss those visits. CS has grown significantly since then.

That is awesome Sir, definitely another proud Dad moment. Thanks again to you, and your family for your service.

If he needs anything down here, I'm available, I'll send you my info.

God bless

Luis
I appreciate that, Brother! He has an aunt in Tucson and a few USAFA brothers and sisters/comrades in arms. He also has a very close female friend that he went to high school with, I am not sure if the relationship is serious, but we shall see. I think he is OK, but you can PM your info, and I might hit you up for a coffee/drink or so when we visit him.

My son is currently an Air Force master sergeant in the reserve. He's located in Colorado Springs. His officers have been pushing him to enroll in the AF officer training program and go active duty (he's working beside them every day in his civilian job too). Last week he found out he was selected to enter the officers program for his Space Command program.

While he didn't follow me to Annapolis (grew up at 9200 feet without any oceans around I guess), it was his choice to serve. Thankfully, I have met many, many of his fellow airmen & officers and can still feel that our country is still in good hands!

USAF, 1971-1975, another time in history I'd stayed. Looking back it was some of my best memories!

Will do. There a couple of places you'll need to go and eat, these opened up after you left so I'll send that too.

God bless
