TRADED...NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Who would buy a $2600 dollar prairie dog rig in 17 WSM? A guy who has buddies he shoots against over dog fields and wants to make then cry, is who...
This isn't for everyone, but if you're a guy who hunts prairie dogs and shoots and yucks it up with your friends on who's killing more dogs each day, this might be for you.
How this came to be...I noticed that when we'd first hit a dog town anywhere. Pdogs would be in the 100-225 yard range at first. I decided it wasn't necessary to break out my CF varmint rigs to nail these close dogs...I went looking for the most accurate rimfire semiautomatic rifle I could find.
I decided on Volquartsen because they were custom building a nice rimfire that would mimick the accuracy of my Cooper rimfires...And, they do!
I've enjoyed sweeping up a lot of prairie dogs with semiauto fire with bolt gun accuracy while my pards were going...Bang, throw bolt, bang, throw bolt...Yes, it was a hoot and made for a lot of laughs and name calling in years past.
I don't get out to shoot prairie dogs much anymore, and this rifle has been sitting in my safe for 3 years unfired...Time to let someone else have fun making their buddies complain and whine.
Rifle new costs $2600 plus from Volquartsen https://volquartsen.com/departments/17_wsm_rifles/families/deluxe
My rifle is in excellent condition with under 1000 rounds fired, which is nothing for a quality rimfire like this. Only ding, is a very small crease on the top of the barrel close to where the barrel meets the action. Aside from that, the rifle is 98%.
I have never run a copper brush through the barrel. When I would clean it after a couple hundred rounds I may have used a nylon brush a few times. Usually just a patch is how I cleaned the barrel.
Rifle is literally as accurate as a Cooper. I own a couple rimfire Coops. So, I know. 17 WSM ammo actually runs the same as 17 hmr ammo and contrary what some say, the 17 wsm isn't gonna go away...I settled in using Federal American 25g ammo for it because my Ruger 77/17 WSM preferred this ammo, but, it will shoot all the 17 wsm ammo just as good.
You get the rifle in a McMillan stock with a 20" barrel threaded with muzzle brake, and two magazines. Action and top rail is one piece milled. Built like a brick house. Trigger is glass breaking crisp at approximately 2lbs.
Instruction book and original hard carrying case. If you want details, look at the Volquartsen link above. The only difference between today's model is a fluted barrel. Mine has a double digit serial #.
Price is $1700 Shipped to your FFL Priority Mail. Shipping will be a smidge over $100 dollars.
Make sure your FFL will receive rifle from a non-FFL. If not, add another $50 to the price for payment on my end to ship from my FFL.
Payment accepted is PayPal (fees are on you the buyer) or USPS Money Order, Bank drawn Cashiers Check. Checks will hold up shipment for 3-4 days to ensure no scams are being attempted. If you are a long time member here with good classified business rating, I will ship rifle once check arrives.
Only Trade would be for a NEW Nightforce NXS 5.5-25x50 scope with moar or mildot reticle.
