Hello;

I picked up a nice Sako R61L three Lug Action
I built a Custom 7mm STW with a Bartein Barrel 1-9 twist
McMillan Stock and Talley ring and Bases.
I am seeking Advice for the Scope, I am looking at a NightForce 2.5-10
x42 with Reticle MOAR, I just Mounted an ATACR scope on my friends 7mm STW
and it went from 8 pounds over 10 1/2 pounds, too heavy to be carrying in the mountains. Any advise is welcome.

If you want to keep weight low and still have good glass, look at fixed power scopes. Most are under a pound. Three of my rifles are wearing fixed x scopes. Both of my 270's have fixed 10x elites on them and my 375 wears a 6x Monarch.

I think you meant L61R action. I have one sitting in my lap as I type this. Sure looks like it has two lugs to me. Nevertheless a very nice rifle. This one is a 7mm RM but is about to get turned into a 26 Nosler. I plan to stick a Bushnell Elite 6500 on it in 4.5 X 30 with the fine Multi-X reticle. For a 30 power scope this is light and compact and they will take a pounding and keep on ticking as I have one on my 338 RUM with 600 rounds down the tube.

Never mind. The newer L61Rs have two lugs. You have one of the older models with the two front and one rear lug. Nice.

Typo should have been L61R in was manufactured @ 68 to 69 time frame it's a pre-Garcia, bluing is perfect and it's two locking lugs in front and one in the reargun)
