Cooper Excalibur in .243 Value

Local classifieds has a Cooper Excalibur in. .243. Says less than 50 rounds fired. What are these worth these days. I've got a Jackson Hunter in 6.5-284 that's a shooter. I don't "need" another .243 but my third daughter is 9 years old and can start deer hunting here soon. This would be an easy button.

I'd say to take a look at First Stop Guns (link below) to see what Coopers are going for. They usually have a good selection to choose from and they sell many - not just advertising them. Good luck finding what you're looking for - very nice rifles!

You may want to look at the new Remingtons. The 243's now have 8 twist barrels.

Well I bought the .243 model 54 Excalibur for $1440. It's in almost new condition. Don't think I could build one for that. Hopefully it still shoots.

I have not seen an original Cooper that was not a shooter. Night Hawk just purchased Cooper the beginning of 2023 and will start manufacturing "Night Hawk Cooper" of Arkansas in 2024. They are still offering the 1/2" MOA 100 yads Guarantee.
We had two and they were tack drivers. You got an original "Cooper" and the price you paid is far less than the original cost.
Post some pics of the rifle and targets when you get a chance to fire it!

So I finally got a chance to shoot this .243 Cooper rifle. I mounted a 3-9 Leupold I had sitting around. I really like the total weight with this set up. Not sure I'll leave this scope on but I wanted to at least shoot it.

Today was cold but at least calm and I needed to chrono a load for my 22-250AI and a coyote load for 22-250. I had some 70 grain loads that shot well out of my Tikka .243 and they weren't top end so I figured they should be plenty safe to at least get it on paper. Set up a sheet at 50 yards and bore sighted. Looked pretty good through the scope and it ended up being only an inch left at 50 yards. Made the scope adjustment and shot a three shot group at 100 yards.

I think it will shoot better as I was freezing and not as steady as I should have been. Either way Im really happy with its first trip to the range with zero load development. This thing should be an awesome carry deer and coyote rifle and perfect for my youngest daughter to shoot deer with.

not a bad start, but I think it will do better with a little tweaking and about 30 degrees warmer weather, I know what you mean about the cold I was shooting the other day at 15 degrees with a slight wind, trying to figure out why I missed a chip shot at 300 yards on a deer the other day, should have taken my 6.5-284 Cooper model 22 instead of my 30.06 .pretty good wind though for So Dakota
