Carbon barrel for T/C Encore?

I'm putting together a backcountry, or rather a back, back, country rig using a T/C encore with a Choate folding stock, probably in 7mm/08 or 6.5-.284 if can find someone who will make a carbon fiber barrel for the encore. If not, I was thinking of using a 15" barrel. What caliber do you think-- I'd be hunting Elk and Mulies. A JDJ? .35 Rem? 7-30 Waters? 30-40 A.I?

Realistically, I won't be shooting over 250 yards with such a short barrel.

I think you better add a little to the barrel, if you are going to put a stock on it. Encore is a fine weapon.
