blackhawk sporter fixed 6-9 bipod

I bought this bipod fixed it to my ruger American but tightened down the optics is slightly canted. I can loosen it some and straighten it with just the slightest amount of torque. My question is. Is there something I can do to fix this? If I do have to hold it straight, will it affect accuracy?
