Greetings:
You will note, that I have a lot to learn about this, and probably many other, subjects.

I have a Marlin7000 with a bull barrel. It really shoots well, so I decided to put a better stock on it. Bought a laminated stock of typical target design off Ebay. So far, so good.

The stock has a 3/4" wide by 5/16" deep grove cut in the bottom of the forearm. I want to install a bipod. Having no experience with bipods, so I need advice on how to attach one when you have a stock like this.

Please advise.

it sounds like you bought a stock designed for a sliding forend stop.
they are designed primarily for position shooters who use a sling and glove.
the glove is pushed against the adjustable stop. the sling is usually attached to it.
they work well for other types of shooting also.
some of the 40x remingtons have the same arraingment.
i simply installed a screw type sling stud into the stock in front of the groove
for my bipod.
