I have tried the standard harris and versa bipods and need something a little stronger. It seems that finding something that is low enough to shoot prone and strong enough to hold a 15-20lb rifle stable isn't there. Has anyone tried using a couple gas piston cylinders hinged to make solid adjustable legs? What are some new options?

Check out Sinclair, Tact/varm.#04-8500,F-class #04-8300, Atlas bipod

Ian... I like the looks of those but a little sticker shock to go with it. The guns that could use a better bipod are 338/378(30" barrel) 338 Snipetac(34" barrel) 50 bmg(36" barrel/6" brake). these guns are all over 14lbs and with heavy barrels they put a lot of pressure on the bipods.
