Anyone know where I can look for a takeoff rem 700 barrel. Got my son a rifle and am looking for a barrel to put on the rifle. Its a 30-06 now. looking something in the 257 or 6.5 area.

Factory take-offs are fairly common in the classifieds here, keep an eye out and you shouldn't have any trouble.

if you ever think about going with a 270 win. I think there might be one in my safe that could be had pretty cheap

I've got a really nice older .270 ADL barrel sitting around, too. I pulled it off my last 700 I picked up to make my .30-06 AI build.

If anyone wants it, it can be had pretty cheap as well. Also got a complete ADL LA setup with spring, standard follower, standard mag box, stock and all that good stuff, too, if anyone is interested.
