Badlands BD-2 load data

Shot some 195 SBD2's out of my 30 sherman yesterday. Use N568 starting at 81g (mv 2926) and ending at 84g (mv 3030). Shots 5,6 and 7 should be the load. This was just at 100 yards. My barrel is a 9T Bartlein @ 26". No pressure signs at all. Don't think I will try for anymore speed. Maybe settle on 83.25g or so.View attachment 457563
Very good result. At those speeds you have a 1000 yd Elk rifle

Well I was able to get in some range time today with the 27 Sherman mag and the 150gr bulldozers. Here's what I got.

Average velocity with 80.6grs of H1000 was 3550. And 20 thousand off the lands.

Excellent group but the speed is screaming! You have a bullet that can take the stress at close range (<=200 yds) but remember that strange things happen with very high speed impacts on game. Guys have seen this with Allen Magnums and Rums shooting light for caliber bullets in this 3500+ fps muzzle velocity range. I would not necessarily change your load because it shoots really accurately but rather use your ballistic app to see at what distance and under what conditions the bullet speed falls bellow 3000 fps and consider that distance as a point blank distance since beyond that you will see more predictable bullet trajectory through your target and most likely less meat damage. Great data though. I would be very proud of it.

Tested for max charge today with the 150 BD2/H4350 in my 7SS

57.5 gr 3078 easy bolt lift
58 gr 3153 VERY stiff bolt lift

Very similar speeds to the 155 Hammer Hunter. Hoping to find a node next around 57

What twist in your barrel? Is this a "b" chamber or the original? Just curious is all. The twist is what matters. I run an 8 twist in the 7 ss' I have built and run the 160 BD2's . The are very accurate. I know my twist rate is lacking but at 6000 ft they seem to fly well.

Looks like at 57.5 gr of H4350 you are at max safe load. You might try StaBall6.5 whch is very temp stable, slower burning, and might give you more speed if you want that. The jump is good.
