Had a customer contact me from Idaho, wanting the most long range performance he could get and stay under the 16 lb weight limit for hunting rifle in his state. Talked over my XHS LW rifles, designed specifically for this reason. Use the smaller diameter BAT receivers, lighest weight stock that will survive these monsters and a special lighter barrel contour that offers all the strength needed for top loads with my big Allen Magnum wildcats yet very reasonable weight. We decided on my 338 Allen Magnum chambering as he had a supply of virgin bertram 375 CT brass.

finished rifle weighed in at 15.5 lbs ready to shoot. The bertram brass did allow 3300 fps with max loads but settled her back to 3250 fps range to offer my required brass life. Told him when he shoots that up we can get him some peterson brass and add another 100 fps with even longer brass life!!

comfortable to shoot, would compare to a 270 win sporter weight rifle so not bad at all. The full length barrel and full dimension stock make it very comfy to shoot at long range. Easily meeting my 1/2 moa accuracy potential requirements at +1000 yards.

Thanks, some may think I don't need another one, I only have 3 of them. But I have been thinking about one built specifically around the 215 Hybrid. You seem to be the man for the job. I will keep in touch. Thank you for your time. David

You may like the specs on the 300 AX for your application as well:

300 AX:
Bullet Weight Velocity(28-30" barrel length)
200 grain 3450-3500 fps
210 grain 3400-3450 fps
240 grain 3200-3250 fps

Great looking rifle.
Your bench looks like a BR pivot lightweight.
How steady is it and what kinds of groups can you shoot off it?

Its the old model, not LW. Actually very solid once the shooter sits on it. I test most all my rifles off this bench and they easily shoot under 1/2 moa in my long range testing. bipods can get a little jumpy on the hard surface when testing but usually only with lighter rifles with a good amount of recoil impulse. You can deaden this by laying a thick towel out over the bench and shoot off that. Bought one of the new model benches, nothing close to the quality of the old ones. After i put alot of work into it, it works well but always grab my old trusty one to test off from.
