Anyone know anything about the BRNO zg47 bolt action?

As the title says. Anyone shoot with one of these? Or have useful information? Some have described it as the final Iteration of the Mauser 98 action but want to hear first hand.

I won a rifle on auction for under 500 Canadian, a zg47 with an aftermarket .358 norma barrel…I don’t know if I want to resell it or hang on to it yet haha

They're pure crap! You'd better send it to me for disposal so you aren't disappointed in it...LOL ;) I thought that the CZ 550 was the last modern iteration of the Mauser but I'd take one of these any day over the CZ just on looks. Those things are purdy! Oh,... and sorry, I don't know a thing about them.

Reminds me of people asking if brass “gets old” just sitting there. Send all your gross expired brass to me!

The ZG47 is one of the nicer iterations of the Mauser ‘98 and is well considered a collectible.
It is a true sporting hunting rifle and most were chambered for 30-06 but not exclusively in that chambering.
I would certainly hang onto such a rifle myself.

Cheers.

Won’t get it for awhile yet. Will share

In a 1971 copy of Bolt Action Rifles by Frank de Haas there are a few pages dedicated to the Czech Brno Sporting Rifles. This covers the VZ-24, ZG 47 and the ZKK models.
If you would like to PM me your email address I would be happy to scan the pages and send them to you.

Barrel like an axle on this one (seller stated it’s aftermarket). I’ll bet it’s a shooter. Note the recessed crown on the muzzle. Barrel is a bit over 27 inches long! Very light trigger pull, ever so slight amount or creep but still very surprised!
