Ammo

What caliber are you talking about? Either bullet will work fine for deer. Personally I like the ballistic tip bullets better than the Berger VLDs because they do less meat damage but kill a deer just as dead. The Berger VLD comes into play when the yardage gets really long. They shoot flatter and buck the wind better. If you are talking using store bought ammo then choose the most accurate for your rifle. Velocity is nice but accuracy kills. :D
