Missouri is a long distance from Pierce County, Lakewood, Washinton.
Consider a claim in small claims court. Normally, plaintifs and dependents cannot hire an attorney to represent them. However, exceptions can be made by the small claims court administrator of that county. Like, are you disabled, hearing, sight or mobility issues, old, cannot travel, poor ? After a win in small claims court, file a judgement against Aero Precison and get a lien. If shot down by court admin, include rejection in AG complaint. Should you win in small claims court ask for fees. Up to $10K in Washington and 10 years after event.
I just looked and Aero Precison has an active & slick web site. Other info has them complaining about a bad firearms business climate in Washington state - a sensible gun related business would have got out of Washington after Dino Rossi was unelected after being certified as election winner. Strong anti gun attitude in Washingon (politics involving guns).
Send Aero Precison, via certifed mail, a demand letter including a copy of the returned check. If the check was issued with knowledge of insufficient funds or closed account that is fraud. Tell them you are considering filing a small claims action against them and have a returned check. Efforts need to be made prior to filing a small claims action.
Possibly the credit card company dropped them so a check was issued. Aero Precision stalled to avoid credit card refund.
Filing a compaint with the WA AG's office is a good move. Include a copy of the returned check.
A BBB complaint is a good move. I recently filed one against an optical company located in Colorado concerning their failure to comply with their warranty.
The issue was no parts supplied after 6 months of attempts. I received the parts 25 days after filing the BBB compaint. My BBB complaint will go on record and serve as a warning to others to avoid that company, like avoid buying their stuff. If the company ignored the BBB complaint my next move would be the Federal Trade Commision. I kept a record of some 11 contacts with the company and forwarded them to the BBB as attachments.
The Federal Trade Commision might have issues with Aero Precision's web site, like fraud.
Thank you for your post - not "airing" but a valid warning.
