Years ago bought a used Cooper Model 16 single shot in .243 WSSM when the cartridge was somewhat popular. Got quotes from Cooper a couple of times over the years about converting to another caliber, but never got around to it. I recently got serious about it and called Cooper, but they now told me the no longer support that model with parts or gun smithing. Any advice on what caliber conversions would work in that action. Convert chamber to .243 wildcat? Any calibers that might work with the existing bolt or would that need to be converted as well? Would appreciate any input on converting to a more popular or useable cartridge.
