While I've been a member of this forum for several years, this is the first thread I've ever started. I just couldn't let this opportunity go by without mentioning the outstanding customer service I've received from TWG.Travel. Based out of San Antonio, TX, "TWG" is the abbreviations for "traveling with guns"! I'd taken note of TWG after running across references to them several times while reading articles on African hunts. Their expertise in getting hunters, along with their firearms, ammunition, and all required documentation, safety In and out of many foreign countries an remote locations was unchallenged! In the event of any problems or emergency they also maintain a 24/7 contact line. So last fall, while putting together the travel arrangements for an Alaskan moose/grizzly hunt in September 2020, I gave them a call. While they do specialize in international hunting destinations, they also cater to North America hunters. The N.A. specialist I worked with (Trisha), put together all my connections, and then promptly called me to confirm everything after the airlines set their schedules on January 1st.
Enter Covid-19: Yesterday Trisha (from TWG), called me to let me know the "major" airline I was booked with has canceled the Chicago to Fairbanks flight I was scheduled to take. She of course offered me a full refund if required, but also had taken the initiative to rebook me on another airline for the same dates. Our conversation literally lasted 2 minutes, and I was back on track! At this moment both my outfitter and I are hopeful the hunt will take place, so we're going ahead with all plans. (What else can we do?) Needless to say, I was very impressed with TWG and their level of service and follow-up! I know if I ever get the opportunity to "travel with guns" again, they'll get my call! While we all await this fall's big game seasons to arrive, everyone please stay healthy and safe!
