Working up a load, started with 78gr Retumbo and 168 Bergers. Vel was right at 3000. Worked up to 79gr and ave vel was only 3040. No pressure signs yet, accuracy 1/2".

I know I should let the rifle tell me what to do, but how much powder have ya'll gotten up to?

Off the top of my head, I am shooting 79.8 gr Retumbo w/ 168gr Berger's and getting 3100+ fps. 26" barrel.

I am shooting 80.5gr retumbo, 215M, 168s at 3110fps in a 26" barrel.

Buddy is shooting 81gr retumbo, 215M 168s at 3200 in same gun.

Both guns are custom built so work up. It also will depend on gun, since he is getting 90fps more out of .5 gr in his gun, even though they are copies of each other.

However, dont sacrifice accuracy for velocity.

Jason

I had the best results with 78grains of Retumbo for the 168 Berger. How many grains of Retumbo are you using with the 180 Bergers? I'm going to try them next.

Re: 7STW, Retumbo and Berger question*Update*

Took it up a notch today......went from 79.0 to 81.0 gr. No pressure signs, velocity was 3107 (ave) with the 81.0 grains. Can a guy live this??
