is anyone running the 180 ELD match bullet through their 28 Nosler, 7x300, or STW? I'm looking for bullet performance as well as a benchmark to begin reloading compared to the 195 EOL in my STW

I've got a box of 180 ELD-M, some H1000, and a 28 on order. Hoping to get a good node above 3100 out of a factory rifle. 3200 should be doable in a custom with the right chamber and RL33.

Tagging in.

Tagging in.

I have 2 boxes on 180 ELD-M, and a 28 Nosler.

Waiting on an ELD-M seating Stem (and probably spring 2018)

Custom rifle
1:9 Twist barrel
Custom Reamer with 3.6" COAL (180 Berger VLDs)

RL-33 Gets the 180 Berger's up to 3200fps but want to try the 180 ELD's

I'm going to try a BC of .752 (Ballistic AE) for the 180 ELD-M's (average listed BC for a 1:8.75 Twist)

I also downloaded the Hornady App (iPhone). I'll compare the two when the time comes.

The listed BC of .816 is for a 1:7.75 twist barrel at MACH 2.25
Average BC, 1:7.75 Twist is: .803

Berger uses averages to begin with, but for reference:

180 Berger: .673
195 Berger: .755

Search around. Plenty info on the 28 nosler and the 180 eldm.

I'm running h1000 in a standard chamber. Running 3090 fps under .4 MOA.

Man, I'm right in the middle of building a 7mm Rem Mag spexifically to shoot the 180 ELD-M. I just got my barrel in, a 26"- 1 in 8 twist Shilen 4 groove. I'm hoping for 3000fps out of it using H1000, but we will see. I don't think I will be shooting until Jan or Feb...

I'm running a Shilen 26 in but I'm using a 28 nosler. 8 twist.

This is the weekend I'm doing my beginning break-in, fireform, load development and chrono with a new 26" 28 Nosler barrel, 180 ELDM, Retumbo and 25 pieces each of Nosler 28 & 26 brass, using the B2B target system.

I have a 28 nosler built by Ryan pierce . It has 26" bartlein 1-8 twist it loves the 180 eld-m im running them at 3120 fps with retumbo also had great results with rel 33 but chose retumbo for temp stability

Has anyone confirmed the bc on the 280 eld-m? I want to build a 7mm RM specifically around this bullet as well as the 183 smk. Id just hate to build on that bullet then have it not be as good as it's supposed to be

I use the 180 ELD-M in my .284 Win but will add one experience.
I tried it in my 28.5 inch barreled1/8 twist 28 Nosler and twice on the third shot of a 3 shot group no bullet impact? They were running 3220fps. I was shooting at 650yds and noticed a dust cloud downrange at the 200 yd mark but thought it was wind......
just went back to 197 Sierra works great.

I have heard of this bullet exploding with high speed and low twist. Search around, but that bullet can't be ran that fast.

also with a standard chamber, a guy can shoot the 195s at 3000, the 180s at 3100 and the 160s at 3300 fps with h1000 or retumbo.

I'm sure u could get more speed with r33. Don't see the need to limit yourself to one bullet.
