6.5-06 Ackley Improved

I, too, have a 6.5-06AI. It's on a Interarms Mark X with 26" 1:9" barrel. 30-06 brass is as common & readily available as 5.56mm is. I have a couple 5 gallon pails full of it. However, I found it easier to form the cases from .270. The cases easily form in one step from .270. To use .30-06 cases, I found I needed to neck down in steps using 280 Rem die, then 270 die, then 6.5-06 die. OTOH, the 270 cases will have to be trimmed to length. The rifle shoots quite nicely. I use Hornady #26335 bullets, seated to 2.800", and 42.5gr IMR4350.
