Anyone know what a .308 Win. necked down to .25 is called? Anyone ever load for one? A buddy at work wants to know.

Correct. That is indeed the 25 Souper.

A neat cartridge really that failed to catch on given the publicity and writeups accorded the 243 and the 6mm during that time frame.

Performance is not far behind the 25/06.

Load data is available in Art Alphin's, "Any Shot You Want."

Email me if you need data.

Cheers.

25 Souper can be made easy from 260 REM but a regular 260 REM can do the same with a better choice of bullet ( better BC and light match bullet for long range varmint )
and perhaps better resale value and lower cost to built

good shooting
