Just wondering what kind of velocities guys are getting out of 20 inch barrels with a .308 win. Bullet weights would be 155-180 grainers. I'm looking for a short profile look to a tactical rifle, and was just wondering what you guys were getting, thanks.

I have a 21" Hart 1:11.25 and with factory winchester supreme match 168gr SMK (the only factory ammo that fits the .336" neck) I am getting 2710fps

I think the powder is temp sensitive because groups have grown this summer from the tiny ones this winter. Will be using Varget with the 165-175gr pills very soon. Brass is prepped and ready

I would think 2550fps-2650fps is very acheivable in your tube with the right powder. MHO

I have a Robar QR2 with 20" Schnieder Barrel, 1-12", Poly rifling. It just measured 2550 with Federal 168 gr Match. I know many of you have longer range kills with a 308, but I view this as a max 700 yard gun. I am going to work up some loads using 150 gr NBT or similar and see if I can boost it to 2800 fps.

Just started load developement on my buddy's Sako Fin light. 20" tube with 165Gr. Nosler Balistic tips, 42.5 Gr. of Vit 140, in Winchester cases, and Fed Match primers, gives 2440-2465 average for 40 shots. Gun shoots 1", if you let the barrel really cool down between shots. My manual says that I can put up to 44.9 Gr. of V-140, we will see if the groups shrink. Tough gun to shoot off the bench with consistancy. Just my .02.

Chris, how well does that combo shoot. I'm toying around the idea of getting a GA Precision Base Tactical rifle with a 20-22" inch barrel. How do you like that Rock barrel?
