Swapped out scopes and got resighted in. I swapped scopes on a couple of my guns. I put a ballistic plex reticle Burris on my T/C Encore that had a target turret version of the same scope. The target turret version went back on my XP-100 7BR.

My best group to date with this gun and load.

My second best group to date with this gun/load.

This load nearly perfectly matches the BP reticle. I still need to shoot to confirm.

Winner winner chicken dinner. :)

Clemens, the recoil is quite stout, but the barrel is rather heavy (0.850" across the flats - 0.920" diameter) so that really helps keep recoil tolerable. A lighter contour barrel would certainly benefit from a muzzle brake.

Thanks Rupe!

I did a bit of shooting over the weekend to confirm the bullet drop at 300 yds using the Ballistic Plex reticle with a 100 yd zero.

I only shot 3 shots, and using my backpack as a rest, I put the three shots in the center of a piece of 8.5x11" copy paper. I didn't measure the group as I wasn't really shooting for group. Just wanted to confirm bullet trajectory.

I've never shot at 300 yds with the exception of killing an antelope back in 2011 (287 yds, and using a standard reticle Burris 3x-12x), so I was curious about the Ballistic Plex reticle and the 30-338WM load I'm using.

Don't know who the ugly guy is that photobombed the pic... :)

I had trouble holding steady using my backpack as a rest, but I'll work on that.

It appears that it matches pretty closely, and the ballistic program I'm using says it should be spot on.

I plan to shoot at 400 yds as soon as I get time and find a place that will allow me to shoot that far.

Regards,
Rog
