280AI Primers

Anyone use mag primers in 280AI loads?

If so under what circumstances?

If not why?

I have not, just because.

Both work fine. You just have to check to see what your rifle/load likes. I've had numerous 280ai and my current rifle/load combo likes cci 250 the best.

I've had excellent luck with fed 210m, 215m, Winchester large rifle, and Winchester large rifle magnums in the past.

I will say I've had better luck with the slower compressed loads with 175/180 class bullets and magnum primers.

160 to 168 class with powders like rl23 and h4831sc seem to prefer large rifle primers.

Once again each rifle and load combo is different so it never hurts to check multiple primer options if you have access to them.

I never used them, never felt the need. I came across a brick of 215M and thought I'd ask in hopes of shortening the learning curve.

I only shoot 155 - 169 bullets and use CCI LR MAG FOR ME.
