280AI and Superperformance

Never tried Superperformance but many of the powders in that burn range (around 4350's) seem to be versatile. Part of me thinks it would be a good match for 140 grain class bullets in 280ai.

What performance difference did you see between IMR4831 and H4831? I'm getting ready to try out H4831SC with Nosler 160 Accubond in my Weatherby 24" Backcountry 280AI.
That combo does well in both my 280 Rems (1/2") and fairly well in one "picky" 280ai.
I prefer 7828 and Re23 because I try to squeeze as much performance/speed out as I can. None are Weatherby brand, but if your Weatherby likes the 160NAB bullets you should do well.

IMR4350 very accurate in my .280AI with 140AB's and H4831sc very accurate with the 160AB's. H4831sc and 160 AB's would produce 2880ish fps out of my 24" Bartlein where 23 and 26 I was over 3K fps with sub moa. Sometimes I struggle to give up .25" moa for speed. It's all mental 🤪 but fun and a tad frustrating at times.

Got better accuracy & slightly more velocity with IMR. But I really think it is due to my 21" barrel. The slightly slower H4831 May give you the performance you want from the 24" bbl. RL22 did not work for me although RL19 is great. Sure seems to me that R23 & R26 would be too slow, but folks have been raving about it. However, RL is nowhere to be found in my neck of the woods.

I started with IMR 7828 and the 160 accubond and it works so well I have never thought about trying something else.
For the 140's and 154's I am using IMR 4831.
I wouldn't mind trying some RL but just like CCAguns, there's none to be found around here so I'm content with what I have on hand.

Concur. IMR 4831 great in 140's. Can't find 7838ssc. When you have a "good" load, that's all that matters. Send it downrange!

Anyone working with this combination? Hodgdon's Superperformance appears to be just faster than RL-19, which is just faster than IMR-4831. Both of the others work well in my 280AI with 160g pills. I've gotten excellent accuracy with Superperformance behind 180gr bullets in my 30-06.
Bigger bore sizes don't mind faster powders my 280 AI prefers powders on the slower side
