I hate to do this but I have for sale a Weatherby Mark V Accumark Ultralight rifle in .257 Wby Mag. Rifle features HS Precision fiberglass stock, lightened Mark V action with 26" stainless fluted barrel and an "Accubrake" muzzle brake with thread protector included. Other features include hinged floorplate, swivel studs, and black Decelerator recoil pad. This rifle has a few minor marks as it has hunted and killed many Coues deer and Antelope @ 300-650 yards. Great rifle needs a new home. Does not include scope, rings or bipod but will ship CONUS to your FFL for $995.

Per several inquiry's the rifle is a Ultra lite model which Weatherby lists @ 6 3/4 lbs. thanks for looking. Rick

What bullet are you shooting out of this gun? How does it group at 100 and 200 yd. have you had the bed re glassed? I really like this gun just want some input , I've heard there are some issues with these.

I shoot Nosler 110 gr Accubond, 3460 fps with 1" to 1 1/2 in groups @ 200 yards I also shoot Speer 120 gr Grand Slam's @ 3450 fps with 1" to 1 1/4" @ 200 yards. Don't know what you've heard about the rifle but I've had nothing but good experiences with it and like I've said harvested many trophies with it over the years. It's a great rifle for $995 and very accurate for a factory rifle. Will make someone a GREAT HUNTER!

hows the recoil? never had a .257 and I am interested in this one. I have shoulder issues and the recoil above a equivalent weight 308 (T3 light in 308 no brake) is a problem for me. hows this one rate?

I have one of these - super accurate with factory ammo, shooting the factory 115 Nosler Ballistic Tip load under 1/2 inch at 200 yards.

Recoil with the brake is, per Weatherby's site, similar to a 243 Win. Granted, I shoot up to a 340 Weatherby but this rifle's recoil is nothing. I would have no problem handing it to one of my younger teen daughters to shoot, especially the one who shot her deer with a .243 this past weekend.
