Nothing heavier than 100g will stabilise other than 117g RN.

Thats what I was afraid of.It is a nice rifle,but must have been put together of varmint hunting.The guy I bought it from did not know the twist.I thought for sure it would at least be 1/10.Wrong 1/12.However if it shoots 100 grainers decent I will be happy.Huntz

Forty years ago we would use 12" twist in 243 and 257 caliber built up rifles. We would not be shooting heavier the 100gr. bullets. We were not sophisticated shooters but took plenty of game. My 1:12 twist 257 Roberts worked very well. Who would be hunting ground hogs with a 117 0r 120 gr. bullet in a Roberts anyway.
I'm in with the 100grers if it shoots them well don't get too excited it's going to be a game killer. The .257 Roberts and the AI were made for the 100gr bullet and the 1-12 twist it'll work just fine. Good luck.
PS: Some of my best kills on Deer I made were with a .257 Roberts and the 100gr bullets at long and short-range., the AI just does it a little better perhaps.

I knew a woman who killed all kinds of deer, antelope, and elk with a. 257 Roberts and IIRC, some 87gr Speer bullets.
