I got a good deal on some Hornady 17 cal 25 grain vmax.
And I was wondering if people had any experience with them out of a 17 Remington for coyotes

When I got them I bought a 6000 round box and sold half of them to someone for their prairie dog hunt for the year

I have a little experience with them but its been all bad. For the .17 to be effective on Coyotes it needs to be pushed to 3900-4000. At this velocity I had several 25 Vmax splash when they hit the ribs. I couldn't imagine a runner with his tail in your scope.
I realize the .17 bullet market is somewhat limited due to the discontinuance of the Hornady 25 HP. I have pretty much settled on the Nagel .30 for Coyotes ( Channing makes a 25 as well). With VVN 540 the 30s can be a viable option in the .17 Remington case.
