My oldest is finally coming to age! I'd like to get him a .243 700. I don't have a lot to spend on the rifle, looking around $500.

Apperently you havent shot any of the ones built since the new company took over. They are just as good if not better than pre 2007 remingtons

I've played around with enough of them to know I don't want one of the new ones.
