anyone tried the 214 30 call HH out of a .300 Winny? Mines an 8twist and loves the 181s but I was thinking I might try the 199s or 214s for the better BC. Probably have to single load them. No way are they going to fit in my mag is my guess.

Ok so I did end up buying a sample pack of the 214s. I shot 5 groups of three from 77-79 gr of H1000 bullets seated .015" off the lands. Not one of those loads shot over 1 MOA. The largest group was about .75 MOA and the smallest was .42 MOA. This was a 0.875" group @ 200 yards.

I ordered another box. I'll play around with them at 77.5 gr. And maybe adjust the seating depth a little. The 181 HH shot better with a little jump. Then yes we should probably go find some tasty cow to test them on.

I have them loaded in my 300 PRC, not sure what the length is but its as long as they can be and still fit in the factory magazine of my CA Traverse. I have only tried one load and that was 76.9 grains of H-1000. Sub 3/4 MOA groups at 100 and 200 and about 1/2 moa group at 500. Velocity is only 2825 though with this load out of my rifle. The 199's are shooting 1/2 moa out to 500 at 3025fps, again no idea how long but whatever the magazine length is on the rifle. I think these bullets are going to be awesome.

I ended up switching over to the 199 hammers. I had the 214s running at like 2950 but it was a spicy load and my Norma brass was getting trashed after like 3 firings. I'm now running the 199s in ADG brass with H1000 and fed215m primers. They are running sub .5 MOA at 3128fps and I have no pressure signs. Not even a flattened primer. With a 200 yard zero it's only 5.5 MOA up for a 500 yard shot.

How many grains of H-1000 are you running. I am at 79.0 and showing no signs of pressure at 3025 FPS . The load shoots .44 MOA at 100 so I haven't even tried to go up.

My rifle liked 80.0 gr with the 199s. I put two into 1.25" at 500 yards a couple days ago. First one cold bore the second a follow up shot just like hunting. I also had a node at 77.5 gr. Running right about 3020.
