If you've seen the size of my specimens you'd realize when it comes to monster bucks I "let them all go". Yeah. That's my story, I chose to let them go…right…

Was fortunate enough to tag out on a really good whitetail this morning. Bang flop at 550 yards, 13 MPH half value wind. 25 SAUM shooting the Berger 135 LRHT at a MV 3260.

Yes a great looking deer. I lived and worked in the wind tower industry for 10 years in ND.
I Killed some nice deer and seen a lot of nice deer. It always surprised me in all those years hunting I never seen or shot a deer bigger than a standard frame 8 point. never. They were all heavy base antlers , excellent big heavy deer.
I think the ground up there is missing some kind of mineral or something for them to get to the 10 point level. They sure have the food up there. Lots of corn now days and beans. It looks like your deer is at least a 10 Pointer from the side view picture. A very very rare size antlered deer in North Dakota. Congratulations. Marty

Season is right during the rut and there's lots of roads. The VAST majority of bucks taken in ND are 3.5yrs old or less. That's why you saw what you saw. Folks ~50yrs old or older still remember very low deer numbers Pre-CRP when most shot the 1st buck you'd see no matter what because it might be the only one you saw all season. That's a hard habit to break for many.

There's some amazing genetics on display in areas with fewer roads and/or landowners who develop habitat and restrict access.
