So currently shooting 180 berger hybrids with H1000 and was thinking about switching to the 180 ELDm just because I shoot a lot of hornady bullets and have had great luck with them. The bergers shoot incredible also but they are hit or miss in finding them. Just wondering if anyone is shooting this combo and how it has performed. I am a novice so don't be getting to terribly technical with replies, lol. Thanks fellows.

I'll be trying this same bullet (180gr ELD-M) in my 7mm Rem Mag in the coming months. I'll be using RL25.

I've built 3X 7 Rem Mags for guys, all have 30" Krieger barrels in MDT chassis stocks, all of them are shooting H1000 and 180 ELDM's. One rifle is shooting 67Gr H1000, the other 2 are running 68Gr H1000 and for this reamer they are seated at 3.430-3.435" (.040-.045" off the lands) We are seeing 2960-2980FPS with all three rifles at 30-40degF and 285ft elevation. All rifles are shooting under 1/2 MOA at 600 yds at the local range. There seems to be a good accuracy node at 2730-2760fps and then another one at 2940-2980 fps. We havent tried pushing them any harder, no real need to.

Perfect that is around same charge I am running with 180 bergers and had it built for the 180s at 300 win mag AI mag length so as u can see plenty of room for powder. I am right around 3000 with my load running a can. I am going to give it a whirl. Thanks for the info brother

Konrad those oal lengths and powder charges are very very close to what I worked up to for 2890 fps from a 24 in 9 twist

I have mine set up 72 gr of Retumbo. Long throat and doing about 3050 fps. I'm also running a 28" barrel. COAL 2.751" w/ comparator .015" off the lands

I'm testing these in a savage 116 24 inch. I did a ladder and seem to find a good in the mid 67 with h1000. I'm .030 off the lands. .030 worked well in my 28 nosler as well.

I will chrono this load and hopefully walk it out to 1100 yards. I will report back.

Side note, I'm running this in a 9.5 twist barrel. When I ran the numbers, the stability was extremely close to the 162 eldx. The bc should be around .750.

I was able to get out and do a little load test with the 180 eldm. I started with same powder charge that is my go to load with 180 bergers which is 69.4 of h1000. Loaded 69.4 thru 70 in .2 gr increments. Nothing really to write home to Mom about so loaded some more at 70 thru 71 in .2 increments. The eldm was good bit slower with same powder charge than the 180 bergers so I think with this next batch I will find the magic load and be around that 2980-3000 mark. Will keep posted.

I would give it a try. Currently, in a factory remington 700 long range, 26" barrel 1:9.25 twist and factory throat 7mm rem mag we are loading the 180 VLD .005" off the lands and using Reloder 26 we hit a good node at 3015-3025 fps, and got up to 3070 fps before we saw pressure. When working up with H1000, we his pressure at about 2980-3000 fps, with best accuracy around 2940. With a longer throat, I would not be suprised to see 3075 or better with Reloder 26 and the hornady pill. Not that you need it, its just another thing to play with ha ha

What did you settle on for a load?

Not my thread, but I was unable to create a load with 180eldm that didn't produce occasional flyers.
69.5gr of h1000 behind 180berger hybrids was extremely accurate. I gave up on the eldms

Any more data fellas? I'm really interested in this thread and curious about any different powders...
