165gr Tipped Gamekings?

Recently got a very nice Sendero chambered in 7mm STW. Im not really certain what I'll be doing with this rifle but I do live in elk country.

I have used tipped Gamekings before in a high velocity 6mm and liked the results as far as accuracy and dead animals. Curious if anyone has tested the 165gr 7mm offering in their STW. BC of .610 looks appealing especially in the 3200fps range.

Running theoretical numbers with berger 140gr at 3350 and STGK 165gr at 3150 the difference to 1000 yards is in the .1-.2 mil range

Good morning dk17hmr, they should work very well. One thing I have noticed is there jackets seem to be a little thicker then others. Congratulations on the new rig, I have one myself. It loves the 175's.

Which 175s are you using?

The 175gr eldx with RL26 currently in that rifle. Will be switching over to the 175gr ablrs when there all shot up. My custom stw I'm shooting the 175gr maker t-rexs. I also have a load for the 190gr A-tips in that same rifle but hesitant to shot game with them. I used the trexs last year on 4 mule deer in my 27 Sherman mag and all I can say is wow what a hell of a bullet.

Your speeds with the 140's can be a lot faster.
I found my node when I reached 3535fps with Nosler BT's.

I believe you I'm just looking at book data based on 24" tubes for those numbers.

Make sure you pay attention to the BC as velocity drops.
.610 above 2600fps
.510 from 2600-1320

Big drop in BC @ 2600fps. Run those numbers.

I ran them on my kestrel with AB.... They list it at .588.

But yes I understand what you mean.
